Passenger-car registrations in Luxembourg

Luxembourg registered 5 023 passenger cars in November 2025: 3 493 new cars (69.5% of the total) and 1 530 used imports. That is down 11.6% on October 2025 and up 2.2% on November 2024. Year to date the market stands at 62 235 registrations, up 2.6% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 51.0% of the new cars; the rest were registered to companies, leasing firms and fleets.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 730 registrations and a 14.5% share, ahead of BMW (628) and AUDI (477). Together the top three brands took 36.5% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, FORD grew fastest year on year (+105.1%) while PEUGEOT fell furthest (−36.3%). The best-selling model was the VOLKSWAGEN GOLF with 147 registrations, followed by the FORD PUMA (136) and the VOLKSWAGEN POLO (126). The GOLF arrived mainly as a used import: 89 used against 58 new.

Battery-electric cars took 23.1% of all registrations, compared with 19.2% in November 2024. Among new cars alone the electric share was 32.4%. Plug-in hybrids took 5.3%, other hybrids 22.4%, diesel 16.5% and petrol 32.5%. The leading electric brand was FORD with 180 battery-electric registrations, ahead of TESLA (117). The best-selling battery-electric model was the FORD PUMA with 120 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL 3 (76). New cars averaged 92.9 g/km of CO₂ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 8.7 years old when they were registered.

November 2025 was the 21st-highest of the 27 months on this page, which average 5 490 registrations a month; the peak was March 2025 with 6 645 and the low August 2024 with 4 177.
