Luxembourg registered 6 372 passenger cars in February 2026: 4 421 new cars (69.4% of the total) and 1 951 used imports. That is up 28.0% on January 2026 and up 5.8% on February 2025. Year to date the market stands at 11 351 registrations, down 0.4% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 63.2% of the new cars; the rest were registered to companies, leasing firms and fleets.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 904 registrations and a 14.2% share, ahead of MERCEDES-BENZ (737) and BMW (690). Together the top three brands took 36.6% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, AUDI grew fastest year on year (+26.3%) while PEUGEOT fell furthest (−10.1%). The best-selling model was the VOLKSWAGEN GOLF with 232 registrations, followed by the BMW 3 SERIES (128) and the MERCEDES-BENZ CLA (124).

Battery-electric cars took 17.1% of all registrations, compared with 19.4% in February 2025. Among new cars alone the electric share was 23.1%. Plug-in hybrids took 5.9%, other hybrids 30.6%, diesel 16.1% and petrol 30.1%. The leading electric brand was MERCEDES-BENZ with 147 battery-electric registrations, ahead of RENAULT (104). The best-selling battery-electric model was the MERCEDES-BENZ CLA with 86 registrations, ahead of the RENAULT 5 (72). New cars averaged 107.7 g/km of CO₂ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 7.0 years old when they were registered.

February 2026 was the 3rd-highest of the 30 months on this page, which average 5 485 registrations a month; the peak was March 2025 with 6 645 and the low August 2024 with 4 177.
