Austria registered 83 524 passenger cars in November 2024: 19 096 new cars (22.9% of the total) and 64 428 used cars. That is down 14.5% on October 2024 and up 2.9% on November 2023. Year to date the market stands at 992 979 registrations, up 7.5% on the same period of last year.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 15 193 registrations and a 18.2% share, ahead of BMW (7 390) and AUDI (6 924). Together the top three brands took 35.3% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, PEUGEOT grew fastest year on year (+27.2%) while RENAULT fell furthest (โˆ’2.9%). The best-selling new-car model was the SKODA OCTAVIA with 655 new registrations, followed by the VOLKSWAGEN GOLF (451) and the BMW X1 (419).

Battery-electric cars took 7.3% of all registrations, compared with 7.8% in November 2023. Among new cars alone the electric share was 19.6%. Plug-in hybrids took 3.5%, other hybrids 11.9%, diesel 42.0% and petrol 35.1%. The leading electric brand was BMW with 521 battery-electric registrations, ahead of TESLA (440). The best-selling battery-electric model was the SKODA ENYAQ with 362 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL Y (300).

November 2024 was the 11th-highest of the 16 months on this page, which average 87 411 registrations a month; the peak was March 2024 with 98 014 and the low December 2023 with 73 057.
