Czechia registered 30 278 passenger cars in March 2024: 18 916 new cars (62.5% of the total) and 11 362 used imports. That is down 0.1% on February 2024 and down 19.0% on March 2023. Year to date the market stands at 92 342 registrations, down 3.6% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 29.5% of the new cars; the rest were registered to companies, leasing firms and fleets.

SKODA led the brand ranking with 8 460 registrations and a 27.9% share, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (3 462) and HYUNDAI (1 954). Together the top three brands took 45.8% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, AUDI fell furthest year on year (โˆ’33.7%). The best-selling model was the SKODA OCTAVIA with 1 784 registrations, followed by the SKODA SCALA (845) and the HYUNDAI I30 (835).

Battery-electric cars took 2.0% of new registrations. Plug-in hybrids took 2.8%, other hybrids 20.7%, diesel 21.0% and petrol 50.9%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 121 battery-electric registrations, ahead of SKODA (56). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL 3 with 71 registrations, ahead of the SKODA ENYAQ (56). New cars averaged 136.0 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 10.5 years old when they were registered.

March 2024 was the 5th-highest of the 7 months on this page, which average 30 090 registrations a month; the peak was October 2023 with 32 883 and the low December 2023 with 24 697.
