Czechia registered 31 953 passenger cars in April 2024: 19 546 new cars (61.2% of the total) and 12 407 used imports. That is up 5.5% on March 2024 and up 3.3% on April 2023. Year to date the market stands at 124 295 registrations, down 1.9% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 27.9% of the new cars; the rest were registered to companies, leasing firms and fleets.

SKODA led the brand ranking with 9 244 registrations and a 28.9% share, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (3 696) and TOYOTA (2 037). Together the top three brands took 46.9% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, TOYOTA grew fastest year on year (+41.8%) while KIA fell furthest (โˆ’12.9%). The best-selling model was the SKODA OCTAVIA with 1 945 registrations, followed by the SKODA KODIAQ (969) and the SKODA SCALA (837).

Battery-electric cars took 3.0% of new registrations. Plug-in hybrids took 2.4%, other hybrids 20.8%, diesel 22.9% and petrol 48.8%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 182 battery-electric registrations, ahead of SKODA (88). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 129 registrations, ahead of the SKODA ENYAQ (88). New cars averaged 136.0 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 10.6 years old when they were registered.

April 2024 was the 2nd-highest of the 8 months on this page, which average 30 323 registrations a month; the peak was October 2023 with 32 883 and the low December 2023 with 24 697.
