Czechia registered 33 943 passenger cars in June 2024: 22 334 new cars (65.8% of the total) and 11 609 used imports. That is up 4.3% on May 2024 and down 2.1% on June 2023. Year to date the market stands at 190 789 registrations, down 3.1% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 22.2% of the new cars; the rest were registered to companies, leasing firms and fleets.

SKODA led the brand ranking with 9 315 registrations and a 27.4% share, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (3 821) and HYUNDAI (2 526). Together the top three brands took 46.1% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, TESLA grew fastest year on year (+324.2%) while BMW fell furthest (โˆ’27.5%). The best-selling model was the SKODA OCTAVIA with 1 528 registrations, followed by the SKODA KODIAQ (1 072) and the HYUNDAI I30 (964).

Battery-electric cars took 6.8% of new registrations. Plug-in hybrids took 2.4%, other hybrids 18.6%, diesel 23.6% and petrol 46.9%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 953 battery-electric registrations, ahead of VOLVO (126). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL 3 with 588 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL Y (357). New cars averaged 131.0 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 10.4 years old when they were registered.

June 2024 was the strongest of the 10 months on this page, which average 30 908 registrations a month; the weakest was December 2023 with 24 697.
