Czechia registered 29 595 passenger cars in September 2024: 18 242 new cars (61.6% of the total) and 11 353 used imports. That is up 2.7% on August 2024 and up 2.2% on September 2023. Year to date the market stands at 279 208 registrations, down 2.4% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 23.1% of the new cars; the rest were registered to companies, leasing firms and fleets.

SKODA led the brand ranking with 9 737 registrations and a 32.9% share, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (3 532) and HYUNDAI (1 613). Together the top three brands took 50.3% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, TESLA grew fastest year on year (+449.6%) while TOYOTA fell furthest (โˆ’23.0%). The best-selling model was the SKODA OCTAVIA with 1 652 registrations, followed by the SKODA KAROQ (1 244) and the SKODA KAMIQ (1 019).

Battery-electric cars took 8.0% of new registrations, compared with 3.4% in September 2023. Plug-in hybrids took 2.4%, other hybrids 18.2%, diesel 21.9% and petrol 48.2%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 639 battery-electric registrations, ahead of SKODA (182). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL 3 with 315 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL Y (312). New cars averaged 128.0 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 10.6 years old when they were registered.

September 2024 was the 10th-highest of the 13 months on this page, which average 30 577 registrations a month; the peak was June 2024 with 33 943 and the low December 2023 with 24 697.
