Denmark registered 10 853 new passenger cars in January 2025. That is down 37.7% on December 2024 and up 22.5% on January 2024. Year to date, meaning January alone, the total is 10 853, up 22.5% on January last year. Private buyers accounted for 63.3% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets. Leasing accounted for 52.9% of the month's registrations, private leasing alone for 22.9%.
No brand or model table exists for January 2025: the importers' association publishes its make and model tables only for its two most recent months and keeps no archive, and auto-stats.eu captures them month by month from the time it added the market. Battery-electric cars took 64.1% of new registrations, compared with 35.2% in January 2024. Plug-in hybrids took 1.8%, diesel 4.1% and petrol 30.1%.
January 2025 was the 16th-highest of the 17 months on this page, which average 14 592 registrations a month; the peak was June 2024 with 19 578 and the low January 2024 with 8 861.
