Denmark registered 18 525 new passenger cars in December 2025. That is up 16.2% on November 2025 and up 6.4% on December 2024. Year to date the market stands at 185 394 registrations, up 6.9% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 64.7% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets. Leasing accounted for 54.3% of the month's registrations, private leasing alone for 24.9%.
No brand or model table exists for December 2025: the importers' association publishes its make and model tables only for its two most recent months and keeps no archive, and auto-stats.eu captures them month by month from the time it added the market. Battery-electric cars took 80.7% of new registrations, compared with 61.6% in December 2024. Plug-in hybrids took 2.4%, diesel 3.8% and petrol 13.2%.
December 2025 was the 4th-highest of the 28 months on this page, which average 15 093 registrations a month; the peak was June 2024 with 19 578 and the low January 2024 with 8 861.
