Denmark registered 19 066 new passenger cars in March 2026. That is up 58.1% on February 2026 and up 26.6% on March 2025. Year to date the market stands at 43 999 registrations, up 17.0% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 61.0% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets. Leasing accounted for 51.7% of the month's registrations, private leasing alone for 19.3%.
No brand or model table exists for March 2026: the importers' association publishes its make and model tables only for its two most recent months and keeps no archive, and auto-stats.eu captures them month by month from the time it added the market. Battery-electric cars took 76.6% of new registrations, compared with 65.3% in March 2025. Plug-in hybrids took 0.8%, diesel 4.4% and petrol 18.2%.
