Denmark registered 16 835 new passenger cars in April 2026. That is down 11.7% on March 2026 and up 10.5% on April 2025. Year to date the market stands at 60 834 registrations, up 15.1% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 67.1% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets. Leasing accounted for 47.2% of the month's registrations, private leasing alone for 20.2%.
No brand or model table exists for April 2026: the importers' association publishes its make and model tables only for its two most recent months and keeps no archive, and auto-stats.eu captures them month by month from the time it added the market. Battery-electric cars took 81.5% of new registrations, compared with 62.7% in April 2025. Plug-in hybrids took 0.7%, diesel 4.9% and petrol 12.9%.
April 2026 was the 10th-highest of the 32 months on this page, which average 15 108 registrations a month; the peak was June 2024 with 19 578 and the low January 2024 with 8 861.
