Lithuania registered 10 049 passenger cars in October 2023: 1 850 new cars (18.4% of the total) and 8 185 used imports. That is down 0.5% on September 2023 and down 1.2% on October 2022. Private buyers accounted for 82.2% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 1 325 registrations and a 13.2% share, ahead of BMW (1 146) and TOYOTA (1 000). Together the top three brands took 34.5% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, SKODA grew fastest year on year (+26.3%) while FORD fell furthest (โˆ’15.0%). The best-selling model was the BMW 5 SERIES with 296 registrations, followed by the VOLKSWAGEN GOLF (295) and the BMW 3 SERIES (281). The 5 SERIES arrived mainly as a used import: 294 used against 2 new.

Battery-electric cars took 4.7% of all registrations. Plug-in hybrids took 3.0%, other hybrids 13.1%, diesel 55.4% and petrol 20.8%. The leading electric brand was VOLKSWAGEN with 95 battery-electric registrations, ahead of TESLA (90). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 54 registrations, ahead of the VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 (45). New cars averaged 125.7 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 10.5 years old when they were registered.

October 2023 was the weakest of the 4 months on this page, which average 10 265 registrations a month; the strongest was August 2023 with 10 483.
