Lithuania registered 11 762 passenger cars in April 2024: 2 347 new cars (20.0% of the total) and 9 406 used imports. That is up 9.5% on March 2024 and up 8.8% on April 2023. Private buyers accounted for 83.3% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 1 498 registrations and a 12.7% share, ahead of BMW (1 342) and TOYOTA (1 251). Together the top three brands took 34.8% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, TOYOTA grew fastest year on year (+33.4%) while NISSAN fell furthest (โˆ’7.2%). The best-selling model was the BMW 5 SERIES with 355 registrations, followed by the BMW 3 SERIES (354) and the VOLKSWAGEN GOLF (330). The 5 SERIES arrived mainly as a used import: 343 used against 11 new.

Battery-electric cars took 3.8% of all registrations. Plug-in hybrids took 2.8%, other hybrids 14.3%, diesel 54.3% and petrol 21.5%. The leading electric brand was VOLKSWAGEN with 82 battery-electric registrations, ahead of TESLA (74). The best-selling battery-electric model was the CUPRA BORN with 64 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL Y (32). New cars averaged 130.9 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 10.5 years old when they were registered.

April 2024 was the strongest of the 10 months on this page, which average 9 942 registrations a month; the weakest was January 2024 with 8 660.
