Lithuania registered 12 194 passenger cars in July 2024: 2 207 new cars (18.1% of the total) and 9 964 used imports. That is up 8.8% on June 2024 and up 17.0% on July 2023. Private buyers accounted for 84.1% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 1 531 registrations and a 12.6% share, ahead of BMW (1 440) and TOYOTA (1 071). Together the top three brands took 33.2% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, PEUGEOT grew fastest year on year (+74.6%) while TOYOTA fell furthest (โˆ’0.4%). The best-selling model was the BMW 3 SERIES with 367 registrations, followed by the BMW 5 SERIES (349) and the VOLKSWAGEN GOLF (314). The 3 SERIES arrived mainly as a used import: 366 used against 0 new.

Battery-electric cars took 3.6% of all registrations, compared with 3.3% in July 2023. Plug-in hybrids took 3.0%, other hybrids 14.8%, diesel 54.3% and petrol 21.8%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 76 battery-electric registrations, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (51). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL 3 with 36 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL Y (31). New cars averaged 132.5 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 10.5 years old when they were registered.

July 2024 was the 2nd-highest of the 13 months on this page, which average 10 394 registrations a month; the peak was May 2024 with 12 301 and the low January 2024 with 8 660.
