Lithuania registered 9 814 passenger cars in February 2025: 1 911 new cars (19.5% of the total) and 7 893 used imports. That is down 8.2% on January 2025 and up 6.3% on February 2024. Private buyers accounted for 82.7% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets.

BMW led the brand ranking with 1 243 registrations and a 12.7% share, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (1 119) and TOYOTA (1 084). Together the top three brands took 35.1% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, PEUGEOT grew fastest year on year (+20.7%) while OPEL fell furthest (โˆ’7.8%). The best-selling model was the BMW 5 SERIES with 321 registrations, followed by the BMW 3 SERIES (289) and the VOLKSWAGEN GOLF (250). The 5 SERIES arrived mainly as a used import: 313 used against 6 new.

Battery-electric cars took 3.9% of all registrations, compared with 3.0% in February 2024. Plug-in hybrids took 5.4%, other hybrids 18.9%, diesel 50.4% and petrol 19.5%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 74 battery-electric registrations, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (48). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 37 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL 3 (27). New cars averaged 131.9 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 10.5 years old when they were registered.

February 2025 was the 16th-highest of the 20 months on this page, which average 10 579 registrations a month; the peak was October 2024 with 12 602 and the low January 2024 with 8 660.
