Lithuania registered 11 415 passenger cars in March 2025: 2 525 new cars (22.1% of the total) and 8 877 used imports. That is up 16.3% on February 2025 and up 6.3% on March 2024. Private buyers accounted for 82.2% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets.

TOYOTA led the brand ranking with 1 395 registrations and a 12.2% share, ahead of BMW (1 320) and VOLKSWAGEN (1 241). Together the top three brands took 34.7% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, NISSAN grew fastest year on year (+66.4%) while VOLKSWAGEN fell furthest (โˆ’10.7%). The best-selling model was the BMW 3 SERIES with 348 registrations, followed by the NISSAN QASHQAI (322) and the BMW 5 SERIES (301). The 3 SERIES arrived mainly as a used import: 343 used against 4 new.

Battery-electric cars took 4.5% of all registrations, compared with 2.6% in March 2024. Plug-in hybrids took 4.7%, other hybrids 19.1%, diesel 50.1% and petrol 19.5%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 120 battery-electric registrations, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (56). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL 3 with 52 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL Y (46). New cars averaged 124.3 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 10.8 years old when they were registered.

March 2025 was the 6th-highest of the 21 months on this page, which average 10 619 registrations a month; the peak was October 2024 with 12 602 and the low January 2024 with 8 660.
