Lithuania registered 14 552 passenger cars in March 2026: 3 801 new cars (26.1% of the total) and 10 663 used imports. That is up 48.0% on February 2026 and up 27.5% on March 2025. Private buyers accounted for 74.9% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 1 791 registrations and a 12.3% share, ahead of BMW (1 741) and TOYOTA (1 678). Together the top three brands took 35.8% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, PEUGEOT grew fastest year on year (+64.2%). The best-selling model was the BMW 3 SERIES with 433 registrations, followed by the BMW 5 SERIES (418) and the NISSAN QASHQAI (386). The 3 SERIES arrived mainly as a used import: 428 used against 3 new.

Battery-electric cars took 5.7% of all registrations, compared with 4.5% in March 2025. Plug-in hybrids took 6.4%, other hybrids 21.9%, diesel 43.7% and petrol 20.6%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 150 battery-electric registrations, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (104). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 86 registrations, ahead of the VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 (57). New cars averaged 124.1 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 10.8 years old when they were registered.

March 2026 was the strongest of the 33 months on this page, which average 11 209 registrations a month; the weakest was January 2024 with 8 660.
