DIV publishes a full calendar year at a time: the latest month is December 2025, from the file published on 2026-03-25. The next year's file usually arrives in the following spring.

Belgium registered 111 338 passenger cars in June 2024: 49 826 new cars (44.8% of the total) and 61 512 used cars. That is up 12.9% on May 2024 and down 6.8% on June 2023. Year to date the market stands at 631 415 registrations, up 2.5% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 39.9% of the new cars; the rest were registered to companies, leasing firms and fleets.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 11 911 registrations and a 10.7% share, ahead of BMW (10 308) and MERCEDES-BENZ (7 660). Together the top three brands took 26.8% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, CITROEN grew fastest year on year (+5.9%) while RENAULT fell furthest (โˆ’21.8%). The best-selling model was the VOLKSWAGEN GOLF with 2 891 registrations, followed by the CITROEN C3 (2 585) and the DACIA SANDERO (1 945). The GOLF arrived mainly as a used car: 2 397 used against 494 new.

Battery-electric cars took 13.9% of all registrations, compared with 8.6% in June 2023. Among new cars alone the electric share was 27.5%. Plug-in hybrids took 7.0%, other hybrids 15.6%, diesel 19.2% and petrol 43.7%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 2 825 battery-electric registrations, ahead of BMW (2 076). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 1 573 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL 3 (1 100).

June 2024 was the 3rd-highest of the 18 months on this page, which average 99 895 registrations a month; the peak was June 2023 with 119 407 and the low December 2023 with 75 621.

'Used' is every registration of a car registered before, in Belgium or abroad. Models are the commercial names as typed at registration, normalised; from January 2024 the file leaves the name blank on 3โ€“4 % of registrations (older used cars), against under 0.5 % before, so used-car model rows and their year-on-year changes drop a little at that boundary. Plug-in hybrids are separable from January 2024 (the new file layout); earlier months count them among the hybrids and show no PHEV figure. Percentages are shown only when the comparison month has at least 30 registrations.
