DIV publishes a full calendar year at a time: the latest month is December 2025, from the file published on 2026-03-25. The next year's file usually arrives in the following spring.

Belgium registered 106 197 passenger cars in June 2025: 41 700 new cars (39.3% of the total) and 64 497 used cars. That is up 15.1% on May 2025 and down 4.6% on June 2024. Year to date the market stands at 605 061 registrations, down 4.2% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 45.4% of the new cars; the rest were registered to companies, leasing firms and fleets.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 11 821 registrations and a 11.1% share, ahead of BMW (10 793) and MERCEDES-BENZ (7 809). Together the top three brands took 28.6% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, DACIA grew fastest year on year (+19.2%) while CITROEN fell furthest (โˆ’10.5%). The best-selling model was the VOLKSWAGEN GOLF with 2 688 registrations, followed by the VOLKSWAGEN POLO (1 773) and the CITROEN C3 (1 769). The GOLF arrived mainly as a used car: 2 432 used against 256 new.

Battery-electric cars took 14.7% of all registrations, compared with 13.9% in June 2024. Among new cars alone the electric share was 30.6%. Plug-in hybrids took 5.8%, other hybrids 18.6%, diesel 17.4% and petrol 42.8%. The leading electric brand was BMW with 1 914 battery-electric registrations, ahead of AUDI (1 777). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 1 085 registrations, ahead of the AUDI Q6 (695).

June 2025 was the 6th-highest of the 30 months on this page, which average 98 081 registrations a month; the peak was June 2023 with 119 407 and the low December 2023 with 75 621.

'Used' is every registration of a car registered before, in Belgium or abroad. Models are the commercial names as typed at registration, normalised; from January 2024 the file leaves the name blank on 3โ€“4 % of registrations (older used cars), against under 0.5 % before, so used-car model rows and their year-on-year changes drop a little at that boundary. Plug-in hybrids are separable from January 2024 (the new file layout); earlier months count them among the hybrids and show no PHEV figure. Percentages are shown only when the comparison month has at least 30 registrations.
