That gave it a 15.2% share of the market and rank #1 among brands, the same position as in August 2025. Volume is down 14.0% on August 2025 (37 467) and down 32.9% on July 2026 (48 003).

Over the 36 months shown, VW has registered 1 620 962 cars in Germany, an average of 45 027 a month. Its strongest month was June 2024 with 60 754 and its weakest August 2026 with 32 233. Its market share has moved from 18.7% in September 2023 to 20.1% in March 2025 and 15.2% now.
