Sweden registered 25 406 new passenger cars in November 2023. That is up 1.6% on October 2023. Year to date the market stands at 78 557 registrations. Private buyers accounted for 32.8% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets.

VOLVO led the brand ranking with 4 030 registrations and a 15.9% share, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (2 800) and TOYOTA (2 347). Together the top three brands took 36.1% of the market. The best-selling model was the VOLVO EX/XC40 with 1 419 registrations, followed by the TESLA MODEL Y (1 236) and the VOLVO XC60 (1 120).

Battery-electric cars took 39.7% of new registrations. Plug-in hybrids took 20.9%, other hybrids 9.6%, diesel 7.0% and petrol 19.9%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 1 512 battery-electric registrations, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (1 327). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 1 236 registrations, ahead of the VOLVO EX/XC40 (972).

November 2023 was the 2nd-highest of the 3 months on this page, which average 26 186 registrations a month; the peak was September 2023 with 28 135 and the low October 2023 with 25 016.
