Sweden registered 24 844 new passenger cars in November 2024. That is down 0.7% on October 2024 and down 2.2% on November 2023. Year to date the market stands at 243 261 registrations, up 209.7% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 37.4% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets.

VOLVO led the brand ranking with 4 843 registrations and a 19.5% share, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (2 873) and KIA (1 863). Together the top three brands took 38.6% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, PEUGEOT grew fastest year on year (+88.6%) while TOYOTA fell furthest (−22.9%). The best-selling model was the VOLVO XC60 with 1 656 registrations, followed by the TESLA MODEL Y (1 278) and the VOLVO EX30 (776).

Battery-electric cars took 36.3% of new registrations, compared with 39.7% in November 2023. Plug-in hybrids took 25.4%, other hybrids 10.5%, diesel 5.2% and petrol 21.3%. The leading electric brand was VOLVO with 1 876 battery-electric registrations, ahead of TESLA (1 446). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 1 278 registrations, ahead of the VOLVO EX30 (776).

November 2024 was the 9th-highest of the 15 months on this page, which average 23 417 registrations a month; the peak was December 2023 with 29 436 and the low July 2024 with 16 337.
