Estonia registered 2 928 passenger cars in February 2024: 1 448 new cars (49.5% of the total) and 1 480 used imports. That is down 3.1% on January 2024 and down 13.0% on February 2023. Year to date the market stands at 5 950 registrations, down 14.7% on the same period of last year. Only 9.9% of the new cars went to private holders; the rest were registered to companies, including leasing firms.

TOYOTA led the brand ranking with 344 registrations and a 11.8% share, ahead of SKODA (339) and BMW (292). Together the top three brands took 33.3% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, KIA grew fastest year on year (+22.2%) while AUDI fell furthest (โˆ’61.2%). The best-selling model was the SKODA OCTAVIA with 124 registrations, followed by the TOYOTA COROLLA (107) and the SKODA KODIAQ (99).

Battery-electric cars took 6.3% of all registrations. Plug-in hybrids took 4.6%, other hybrids 24.5%, diesel 36.3% and petrol 20.0%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 38 battery-electric registrations, ahead of BMW (12). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL 3 with 18 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL Y (12). New cars averaged 135.9 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 9.1 years old when they were registered.

February 2024 was the weakest of the 6 months on this page, which average 3 480 registrations a month; the strongest was September 2023 with 3 907.
