Estonia registered 3 336 passenger cars in March 2024: 1 707 new cars (51.2% of the total) and 1 629 used imports. That is up 13.9% on February 2024 and down 24.6% on March 2023. Year to date the market stands at 9 286 registrations, down 18.5% on the same period of last year. Only 11.5% of the new cars went to private holders; the rest were registered to companies, including leasing firms.

SKODA led the brand ranking with 374 registrations and a 11.2% share, ahead of TOYOTA (350) and BMW (323). Together the top three brands took 31.4% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, DACIA grew fastest year on year (+52.1%) while AUDI fell furthest (โˆ’55.6%). The best-selling model was the SKODA OCTAVIA with 143 registrations, followed by the SKODA KODIAQ (97) and the TOYOTA RAV4 (85).

Battery-electric cars took 4.9% of all registrations. Plug-in hybrids took 4.2%, other hybrids 24.2%, diesel 34.6% and petrol 22.7%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 37 battery-electric registrations, ahead of BMW (17). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL 3 with 14 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL Y (12). New cars averaged 137.0 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 9.7 years old when they were registered.

March 2024 was the 5th-highest of the 7 months on this page, which average 3 460 registrations a month; the peak was September 2023 with 3 907 and the low February 2024 with 2 928.
