Estonia registered 3 557 passenger cars in April 2024: 1 743 new cars (49.0% of the total) and 1 814 used imports. That is up 6.6% on March 2024 and down 8.6% on April 2023. Year to date the market stands at 12 843 registrations, down 16.0% on the same period of last year. Only 10.7% of the new cars went to private holders; the rest were registered to companies, including leasing firms.

SKODA led the brand ranking with 398 registrations and a 11.2% share, ahead of BMW (386) and TOYOTA (384). Together the top three brands took 32.8% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, TOYOTA grew fastest year on year (+53.0%) while AUDI fell furthest (โˆ’59.0%). The best-selling model was the SKODA OCTAVIA with 173 registrations, followed by the SKODA KODIAQ (105) and the TOYOTA COROLLA (105).

Battery-electric cars took 4.3% of all registrations. Plug-in hybrids took 4.7%, other hybrids 27.4%, diesel 35.1% and petrol 20.6%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 33 battery-electric registrations, ahead of BMW (17). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 17 registrations, ahead of the BMW IX (12). New cars averaged 136.3 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 9.2 years old when they were registered.

April 2024 was the 4th-highest of the 8 months on this page, which average 3 472 registrations a month; the peak was September 2023 with 3 907 and the low February 2024 with 2 928.
