Estonia registered 1 760 passenger cars in March 2025: 968 new cars (55.0% of the total) and 792 used imports. That is up 48.9% on February 2025 and down 47.2% on March 2024. Year to date the market stands at 3 979 registrations, down 57.2% on the same period of last year. Only 8.9% of the new cars went to private holders; the rest were registered to companies, including leasing firms.

TOYOTA led the brand ranking with 277 registrations and a 15.7% share, ahead of SKODA (170) and BMW (158). Together the top three brands took 34.4% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, NISSAN grew fastest year on year (+27.8%) while VOLKSWAGEN fell furthest (โˆ’63.2%). The best-selling model was the TOYOTA YARIS CROSS with 79 registrations, followed by the SKODA OCTAVIA (63) and the TOYOTA RAV4 (56).

Battery-electric cars took 13.6% of all registrations, compared with 4.9% in March 2024. Plug-in hybrids took 9.8%, other hybrids 31.9%, diesel 22.7% and petrol 14.7%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 65 battery-electric registrations, ahead of SKODA (22). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL 3 with 32 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL Y (21). New cars averaged 111.2 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 9.5 years old when they were registered.

March 2025 was the 17th-highest of the 19 months on this page, which average 3 651 registrations a month; the peak was December 2024 with 7 050 and the low January 2025 with 1 037.
