Estonia registered 3 526 passenger cars in May 2026: 1 893 new cars (53.7% of the total) and 1 633 used imports. That is down 0.8% on April 2026 and up 48.3% on May 2025. Year to date the market stands at 15 101 registrations, up 81.7% on the same period of last year. Only 6.9% of the new cars went to private holders; the rest were registered to companies, including leasing firms.

TOYOTA led the brand ranking with 649 registrations and a 18.4% share, ahead of BMW (364) and SKODA (361). Together the top three brands took 39.0% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, SKODA grew fastest year on year (+93.0%) while KIA fell furthest (โˆ’11.8%). The best-selling model was the TOYOTA YARIS CROSS with 206 registrations, followed by the TOYOTA RAV4 (175) and the SKODA OCTAVIA (154).

Battery-electric cars took 9.5% of all registrations, compared with 7.3% in May 2025. Plug-in hybrids took 8.6%, other hybrids 37.4%, diesel 24.8% and petrol 15.5%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 80 battery-electric registrations, ahead of BMW (32). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 38 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL 3 (30). New cars averaged 117.5 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 9.9 years old when they were registered.

May 2026 was the 14th-highest of the 33 months on this page, which average 3 187 registrations a month; the peak was December 2024 with 7 050 and the low January 2025 with 1 037.
