Finland registered 9 900 passenger cars in March 2025: 6 176 new cars (62.4% of the total) and 3 724 used imports. That is up 21.7% on February 2025 and up 2.4% on March 2024. Year to date the market stands at 27 308 registrations, down 1.9% on the same period of last year.

TOYOTA led the brand ranking with 1 129 registrations and a 11.4% share, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (1 033) and VOLVO (959). Together the top three brands took 31.5% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, POLESTAR grew fastest year on year (+319.4%) while TESLA fell furthest (โˆ’35.1%). The best-selling model was the TOYOTA RAV4 with 207 registrations, followed by the TESLA MODEL Y (205) and the TOYOTA C-HR (187).

Battery-electric cars took 44.3% of all registrations, compared with 29.1% in March 2024. Among new cars alone the electric share was 39.4%. Plug-in hybrids took 22.7%, diesel 5.4% and petrol 27.4%. The leading electric brand was VOLKSWAGEN with 583 battery-electric registrations, ahead of TESLA (529). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 205 registrations, ahead of the VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 (176). New cars averaged 56.8 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 5.0 years old when they were registered.

March 2025 was the 8th-highest of the 19 months on this page, which average 9 729 registrations a month; the peak was May 2024 with 11 532 and the low February 2025 with 8 136.
