Finland registered 7 769 passenger cars in February 2026: 4 949 new cars (63.7% of the total) and 2 820 used imports. That is down 2.6% on January 2026 and down 4.5% on February 2025. Year to date the market stands at 15 742 registrations, down 9.6% on the same period of last year.

TOYOTA led the brand ranking with 897 registrations and a 11.6% share, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (817) and VOLVO (790). Together the top three brands took 32.2% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, TESLA grew fastest year on year (+37.8%) while POLESTAR fell furthest (โˆ’22.3%). The best-selling model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 319 registrations, followed by the TOYOTA BZ4X (182) and the VOLVO XC60 (166).

Battery-electric cars took 49.9% of all registrations, compared with 39.0% in February 2025. Among new cars alone the electric share was 44.2%. Plug-in hybrids took 14.7%, diesel 7.4% and petrol 27.8%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 485 battery-electric registrations, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (427). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 319 registrations, ahead of the TOYOTA BZ4X (182). New cars averaged 58.6 g/km of COโ‚‚ (WLTP). Used imports were on average 5.6 years old when they were registered.

February 2026 was the weakest of the 30 months on this page, which average 9 542 registrations a month; the strongest was May 2024 with 11 532.
