Switzerland registered 19 698 new passenger cars in November 2024. That is up 5.0% on October 2024 and down 10.5% on November 2023. Year to date the market stands at 214 181 registrations, down 4.9% on the same period of last year.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 2 182 registrations and a 11.1% share, ahead of SKODA (1 880) and BMW (1 761). Together the top three brands took 29.6% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, VOLVO grew fastest year on year (+31.4%) while BMW fell furthest (โˆ’13.6%). The best-selling model was the VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN with 409 registrations, followed by the SKODA ENYAQ (402) and the TESLA MODEL Y (394).

Battery-electric cars took 21.1% of new registrations, compared with 21.6% in November 2023. Plug-in hybrids took 8.4%, other hybrids 37.0%, diesel 7.6% and petrol 25.9%. The leading electric brand was AUDI with 546 battery-electric registrations, ahead of TESLA (535). The best-selling battery-electric model was the SKODA ENYAQ with 402 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL Y (394).

November 2024 was the 10th-highest of the 15 months on this page, which average 20 338 registrations a month; the peak was December 2023 with 26 948 and the low January 2024 with 15 236.
