New passenger-car registrations in Denmark

Denmark registered 13 893 new passenger cars in July 2025. That is down 27.3% on June 2025 and up 20.0% on July 2024. Year to date the market stands at 103 908 registrations, up 5.8% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 60.7% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets. Leasing accounted for 59.7% of the month's registrations, private leasing alone for 25.8%.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 2 467 registrations and a 17.9% share, ahead of SKODA (1 786) and BMW (1 096). Together the top three brands took 38.7% of the market. The best-selling model was the SKODA ELROQ with 1 006 registrations, followed by the VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 (687) and the KIA EV3 (511).

Battery-electric cars took 66.7% of new registrations, compared with 51.2% in July 2024. Plug-in hybrids took 3.1%, diesel 5.8% and petrol 24.3%.

July 2025 was the 16th-highest of the 23 months on this page, which average 14 831 registrations a month; the peak was June 2024 with 19 578 and the low January 2024 with 8 861.
