Denmark registered 14 681 new passenger cars in July 2026. That is down 32.0% on June 2026 and up 5.7% on July 2025. Year to date the market stands at 116 272 registrations, up 11.9% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 65.0% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets. Leasing accounted for 41.2% of the month's registrations, private leasing alone for 14.1%.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 1 672 registrations and a 11.5% share, ahead of TOYOTA (1 471) and SKODA (1 186). Together the top three brands took 29.7% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, CITROEN grew fastest year on year (+677.9%) while SKODA fell furthest (−33.6%). The best-selling model was the TOYOTA BZ4X with 613 registrations, followed by the SKODA ELROQ (584) and the TESLA MODEL Y (495).

Battery-electric cars took 79.5% of new registrations, compared with 66.7% in July 2025. Plug-in hybrids took 0.2%, diesel 4.7% and petrol 15.7%.

July 2026 was the 22nd-highest of the 35 months on this page, which average 15 397 registrations a month; the peak was June 2026 with 21 583 and the low January 2024 with 8 861.
