Latvia registered 5 801 passenger cars in October 2025: 1 834 new cars (31.6% of the total) and 3 967 used imports. That is down 2.7% on September 2025 and up 10.0% on October 2024. Year to date the market stands at 55 029 registrations, up 12.4% on the same period of last year. Private buyers accounted for 64.7% of registrations, the rest going to companies, leasing and fleets.

BMW led the brand ranking with 852 registrations and a 14.7% share, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (676) and AUDI (596). Together the top three brands took 36.6% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, PEUGEOT grew fastest year on year (+80.4%) while VOLVO fell furthest (โˆ’19.2%). The best-selling model was the BMW 3 SERIES with 254 registrations, followed by the BMW 5 SERIES (171) and the VOLKSWAGEN GOLF (132). The 3 SERIES arrived mainly as a used import: 252 used against 2 new.

Battery-electric cars took 6.8% of all registrations, compared with 6.1% in October 2024. Plug-in hybrids took 6.7%, diesel 46.7% and petrol 38.5%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 104 battery-electric registrations, ahead of AUDI (50). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL 3 with 37 registrations, ahead of the AUDI E-TRON (30). Used imports were on average 12.0 years old when they were registered.

October 2025 was the 6th-highest of the 27 months on this page, which average 5 097 registrations a month; the peak was July 2025 with 6 412 and the low January 2024 with 3 738.
