Ireland registered 7 148 passenger cars in November 2024: 2 024 new cars (28.3% of the total) and 5 124 used imports. That is down 24.3% on October 2024 and up 2.7% on November 2023. Year to date the market stands at 173 771 registrations, up 6.7% on the same period of last year.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 1 275 registrations and a 17.8% share, ahead of AUDI (802) and BMW (691). Together the top three brands took 38.7% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, AUDI grew fastest year on year (+35.5%) while HONDA fell furthest (โˆ’8.2%). The best-selling model was the TESLA MODEL 3 with 96 registrations, followed by the SKODA OCTAVIA (62) and the TOYOTA COROLLA (56).

Battery-electric cars took 10.0% of all registrations, compared with 10.8% in November 2023. Among new cars alone the electric share was 28.4%. Plug-in hybrids took 12.0%, other hybrids 14.0%, diesel 24.7% and petrol 39.2%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 146 battery-electric registrations, ahead of NISSAN (39). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL 3 with 96 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL Y (50).

November 2024 was the 13th-highest of the 15 months on this page, which average 13 708 registrations a month; the peak was January 2024 with 25 461 and the low December 2023 with 4 875.
