Ireland registered 10 994 passenger cars in October 2025: 4 096 new cars (37.3% of the total) and 6 898 used imports. That is down 18.5% on September 2025 and up 16.4% on October 2024. Year to date the market stands at 177 741 registrations, up 6.7% on the same period of last year.

VOLKSWAGEN led the brand ranking with 2 011 registrations and a 18.3% share, ahead of TOYOTA (1 174) and BMW (1 073). Together the top three brands took 38.7% of the market. Among the ten largest brands, BMW grew fastest year on year (+40.3%) while FORD fell furthest (โˆ’6.7%). The best-selling model was the TOYOTA COROLLA CROSS with 127 registrations, followed by the SKODA OCTAVIA (121) and the TESLA MODEL Y (115).

Battery-electric cars took 14.2% of all registrations, compared with 9.5% in October 2024. Among new cars alone the electric share was 27.9%. Plug-in hybrids took 14.9%, other hybrids 16.9%, diesel 20.3% and petrol 33.7%. The leading electric brand was TESLA with 198 battery-electric registrations, ahead of VOLKSWAGEN (148). The best-selling battery-electric model was the TESLA MODEL Y with 115 registrations, ahead of the TESLA MODEL 3 (83).

October 2025 was the 18th-highest of the 26 months on this page, which average 14 927 registrations a month; the peak was January 2025 with 27 311 and the low December 2024 with 4 750.
